VCT Floor Stripping, Sealing and Waxing in Carrollton

Grey, scuffed vinyl tile rebuilt from the bare surface up, with finish that holds a gloss.

When Mopping Stops Working

Vinyl composition tile looks fine for a while. Then the finish wears thin. Dirt gets sealed into old layers. Traffic lanes turn grey, edges yellow and scuff marks stop coming up. No amount of mopping fixes it, because the problem is inside the finish. The fix is a full strip. We apply stripper, scrub the old finish off with floor machines, pick up the slurry and rinse the tile clean. Once it dries, a sealer goes down, followed by several coats of fresh floor finish. After curing, the floor is burnished at high speed to harden the surface and bring up the gloss. The result: tile that looks close to new and resists scuffs. Schools, retail stores, warehouse offices, churches and break areas with VCT all benefit. Work is scheduled overnight or on weekends, so hallways along a busy Carrollton corridor are back in use when people arrive. Between strips, routine burnishing keeps the shine longer.

What a Strip and Wax Job Includes

Every step, in the order it happens.

  • Furniture moved

Chairs, mats and anything portable carried out before work and returned once the floor cures.

  • Edges detailed

Corners and baseboard lines scraped so old finish does not stay trapped.

  • Chemical strip

Commercial stripper applied and given time to break down old layers.

  • Machine scrub

Floor machines scrub the softened finish loose from the tile.

  • Rinse and neutralize

Slurry removed and the floor rinsed so new finish bonds properly.

  • Sealer coat

Sealer goes on first to fill the pores so finish bonds evenly.

  • Thin finish layers

Multiple thin coats applied with drying time between each.

  • Burnishing

High-speed burnishing once cured for a hard, glossy surface.

How the Floor Job Runs

  1. Measure and inspect

Square footage, tile condition and how much old finish remains get assessed on site, or from photos and numbers you share on a call.

  2. Schedule the work window

Stripping needs the area closed. We pick an overnight or weekend window that keeps your hallways open during business hours.

  3. Strip, refinish and hand back

Stripping, sealing, coating and burnishing happen in one window. Then the floor gets walked with your manager and we say when full traffic can resume.
